Adapted from music I made on a DAW in 2009, this was the first piece I worked on with my undergraduate composition professor, Dr. Frank La Rocca. The joy in working on this thing was in the arranging of a cumbersome digital timeline for the performance of live musicians. Many portions of the piece changed and evolved in this transition, and as a percussionist myself I was able to workshop these new changes in between rehearsals with the percussion ensemble. Special thanks to my percussion instructor Artie Storch who was an early supporter of this piece and offered valuable insight in how to make it more musical.
